Punjab Assembly Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal on Monday felicitated and honoured Balram Ji Das Tandon on his appointment as Governor of Chhattisgarh.
In a function organised in Vidhan Sabha premises, Atwal accompanied by MlA cutting across party lines, said Tandon has been member of Punjab Assembly for a long time and the services rendered by him would always be remembered. Recalling various initiatives taken by Tandon as Punjab Minister, the Speaker said he always kept interests of state in mind while framing policies.
Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, BJP State President Kamal Sharma, ClP leader Sunil Jakhar and Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema also congratulated Tandon on his appointment as Governor of Chhattisgarh.
Atwal said under his guidance the state of Chhatisgarh would witness renewed era of growth and prosperity.
