Meanwhile, a day after he was sworn in, Chief Minister Khattar said the new Cabinet would be formed “soon”, without giving a deadline.

Talking to reporters, he said his government would work with the same zeal to root out corruption, adding that they would not leave the agenda of eradicating corruption. He said interview system for group C and D posts had already been abolished and there is no scope for corruption. The first session the new assembly will likely be called from November 4-6 in which new Members of Legislative Assembly will also be sworn in.

On BJP's vote share in the elections, he said it had gone up 3 per cent, from 33 to 36 per cent. Asked about why the BJP could not achieve its own target of 75 seats as the party’s seats went down from 47 to 4o,  he said they respected people’s mandate but would introspect the reasons for it.
