The Government agencies and private millers have procured more than 129,3428 tonnes of paddy in Punjab.
Out of total procurement of 129,342,8 tonnes of paddy in all the procurement centres of Punjab, the Government agencies procured 1225077 tonnes of paddy (94.7%) till date whereas 68351 tonnes (5.3%) of paddy has been procured by millers, said an official Spokesman of Punjab Government.
Giving the details of paddy procured by government agencies, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 375535 tonnes (29.0%), MARKFED procured 287438 tonnes (22.2 %). PUNSUP procured 253662 tonnes (19.6%), PSWC procured 149195 tonnes (11.5%) and PAFC was able to procure 138519 tonnes (10.7%) of paddy.
The Central Government agency FCI had been able to procure 20728 tonnes (1.6%), he added.
