BJP president Rajnath Singh on Saturday in Gurdaspur said that the BJP will cross the magic mark of 300 plus seats in the country during the current lok Sabha elections. Rajnath Singh was on a day’s visit to the Gurdaspur constituency where BJP’s candidate Vinod Khanna is contesting against the incumbent Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa.
Singh said that people are angry with the Congress-led UPA Government and want to replace them. It was clear that agendas like corruption and mis-governance have prevailed under the Congress and they will receive a huge slap from the people of this country now.
lashing out at the Congress he said, poverty and unemployment have increased with 2G, 3G and jijaji gaining prominence (hinting at Gandhi family’s son-in-law Robert Vadra’s alleged illegal land dealings). The whole country has accepted Modi as their leader and is eagerly waiting for him to take over.
Speaking on the issue of ongoing conflict with neighbouring Pakistan on the issue of Jammu & Kashmir, he said that the Kashmir issue will be resolved by Narendra Modi’s Government. Kashmir issue has repercussions in Gurdaspur lok Sabha seat as it borders Pakistan on one side. The BJP Government will also try its best to mend relations with the neighbouring countries.
Further hitting out at the Congress he said that there has been no foreign or domestic investment in the country during the Congress rule. He compared it to the glorious years of BJP’s rule between 1998-2004 and said that the Congress’ pathetic performance will cost them dearly.
The Congress is busy with its blame game and has forgotten about the nation. On being asked whether the BJP had sidelined incumbent Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu by not giving him a ticket this time, he said, not giving a ticket doesn’t mean we are doubting the ability of the person. Singh also addressed a public rally in Deenanagar and Babehaali in the Gurdaspur constituency.
