A day after Congress stalwart Capt Amarinder Singh announced to stage protest outside Punjab Chief Minister’s residence over the issue of delayed payment to sugarcane farmers, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday said that he had not yet received any official or formal communication in this regard.

At the same time, the fifth time Chief Minister Badal said that his doors were always open to everyone, including the former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder.

“We have not yet received any official or formal communication from Capt Amarinder for a meeting…We have read about it only in the media. However, Capt Amarinder is most welcome for talks,” he said.

Badal categorically said that he was ever ready to welcome anyone who comes at his residence or office to meet him and he would be too happy to accord warm welcome to Capt Amarinder.

“To be humble and respectful to the people is the hallmark of my persona in the public life,” he said.

Badal further said that God willing, he was also magnanimous and always prepared to resolve any issue related to overall development of the state and welfare of its people with open mind through mutual dialogue across the table.

The Chief Minister reiterated that even then he would make every possible effort for early resolution of the issues raised by Capt Amarinder to his satisfaction. According to Chief Minister’s Advisor on National Affairs and Media Harcharan Bains, the Chief Minister’s Office has not received any official or formal intimation so far from Capt Amarinder Singh in this regard.
