Haryana Urban local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain has ordered to suspend Secretary, Municipal Council, Gohana, Pavitra Guliya, with immediate effect for negligence of duty and his suspected role in the breaching of the sanctity of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana in November, 2015. The suspended officer had remained absent from duty and therefore, disciplinary action has been taken against him on the basis of administrative report.
Jain said that the PGT examination of HTET level 3 was cancelled after the question paper was leaked in Jind. During investigation, Jind police found that the question paper was leaked from Sonipat and it was indicated that a nexus was involved in the paper leak. During interrogation, the accused had alleged that Guliya, along with other officers and employees, was involved in this matter.
Following this, Guliya availed medical leave, but did not return to duty even after the leave period ended. Reports were submitted regarding his absence from duty, which was hindering the functioning of the Municipal Council, and lack of cooperation with the police, after which he was suspended, the Minister said.
