Haryana Health Minister, Anil Vij on Saturday said that facilities of MRI and dialysis are being provided in all district hospitals of the State in a phased manner.
A scheme has also been prepared to establish Intensive Care Units (ICU) in all hospitals with the assistance of corporate houses and prominent industrialists of private sector under corporate social responsibility.
He said that catheterisation laboratories (cath lab) would be set up in all district hospitals. He said that it has been decided to set up such labs in six districts on experimental basis in the first phase. This facility would later be extended to all districts.
Vij alleged that due to negligence of previous Governments, inflow of patients in Government hospitals had declined, but they were now preferring Government hospitals as improved facilities were being provided.
The Minister claimed that the Health Department was making concerted efforts to provide facilities better than those being provided by private hospitals. He said that the introduction of the facility of MRI tests in Civil Hospital would facilitate the patients as in private hospitals, this test was being conducted for Rs4,500 to Rs6,000 , whereas the Civil Hospitals would provide this facility for only Rs1,800.
