Modi visit to boost BJP chances in Haryana

Published on:

After back-to-back successful rallies of party president Amit Shah, Haryana BJP is now looking at the function of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kaithal on Tuesday to consolidate the gains in the State where it is looking to form the next Government. The BJP has never ruled Haryana on its own.

Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for 4-laning of Kaithal-Rajasthan Border Section of NH-152/65 at Police line Ground, Kaithal,  which will connect Haryana with Rajasthan by 166 km long stretch comprising of 7 bypasses and four ROBs.

This would be the first visit of Modi in Haryana after becoming the Prime Minister. This would be an official visit which would be attended by Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Cabinet Ministers. However, the State BJP leadership would try to make political use of the rally as Assembly elections in the State are scheduled for October.

“It is a proud moment for not only our party workers and leaders but also for the entire State,” said Vir Kumar Yadav, spokesperson of Haryana BJP.

State BJP is upbeat as the party won seven of the eight seats it contested in the lok Sabha polls. BJP president Amit Shah has seen the mood of public during his two consecutive rallies — ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ on August 14 in Mahendragarh and rally in Jind on August 16. Yet Modi’s visit will bolster the chances of the party, added a senior leader.

BJP has seen several high profile leaders joining the party in Haryana, the last was Chaudhary Birender Singh who enjoys considerable clout in the dominant Jat community. Over two dozen MlAs, former MlAs, Ministers joined the party in the presence of Shah.
