Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the celebrations to commemorate the 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib town on June 19. Modi confirmed his participation after Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal called on Modi at his residence and invited him to preside over the celebrations, which he accepted.
Badal apprised the Prime Minister of the history and significance of the holy town of Sri Anandpur Sahib, founded by Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh master, in 1665.
later, the Chief Minister called on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to extend invitations for attending the function. Both assured him of participation in these celebrations.
