The Himachal BJP has claimed that over 2.5 lakh people would converge at Sujanpur for Narendra Modi’s rally on Sunday.

Praveen Sharma, State media in-charge of BJP, on Friday said that this would be the largest rally in the history of Himachal Pradesh.

He said the land of  Dev Bhumi and Virbhumi is awaiting for a rousing reception for Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate.

Contingents of 5,000- 10,000 would reach the venue of rally from all parts of the State. From the tribal districts of lahul and Spiti small contingents of 500 each will also take part in the historic rally.

“One lakh chairs had been provided in the sprawling venue of the rally with separate enclosures of the VIPs, media persons and women,” Sharma said.

Modi will be accompanied by BJP president Raj Nath Singh. Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and former Union Minister Shanta Kumar would also address the rally.

This will be the only rally to be addressed by Narendra Modi in Himachal Pradesh before 2014  general elections.

When contacted, Dhumal said people of Himachal Pradesh were pinning great hopes on Modi, who after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, would deliver justice to the backward State  of Himachal Pradesh, which had been meted out grave injustice by successive Congress Governments at the Centre.

He said the days of Virbhadra Singh Government in Himachal Pradesh were numbered in the wake of pro-Modi wave sweeping across the State.
