Attacking BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Saturday said that the people of the country will not pardon him as he has failed to discharge his responsibilities in an effective manner.
Addressing a public meeting, he said that the Gujarat Chief Minister’s political ‘Report Card’ reveals that during his tenure, Gujarat has witnessed large scale riots, like in Godhra, where a large number of people were mercilessly killed so he is not fit to become the Prime Minister of the country from any angle.
He said that the Congress Governments — whether in the State or at the Centre — has contributed a lot in making the country self-reliant. “Modi is not a Superman or a magician that he can solve all the problems of the people of the country at the blink of an eye,” said the Chief Minster.
He said that a wave was being created in Modi’s favour through media by the BJP to misguide the people, but the ground reality is far from this. The State BJP leaders and Modi are raking up the Gujarat model of development but there were many other States which are far more developed and self-reliant than Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh is one of them. Attacking the BJP leaders, Virbhadra Singh said that the BJP does politics based on region and religion and tries to mislead the people on these issues.
