Haryana Tourism and Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be requested to inaugurate the Surajkund International Crafts Mela at Faridabad starting from February 1, next year.
He said actor and MP, Hema Malini and actor Dharmendra are being approached for becoming the Brand Ambassadors of the Mela. Speaking at Sirsa, Sharma, who is also holding the portfolio of Food and Supplies Department, said that the ration cards would be made online.
He said after the formation of BJP Government in the State, many scams have come to light and action was being taken against the defaulters. The Government is committed to eliminate corruption, he added.
Sharma, also holding the Education department, said the State Government will set up a model school in each district of the State and experienced teachers would be appointed in these schools.
He said commercialisation of education was done during the tenure of previous Congress Government alleging that irregularities were committed then in recruitment of teachers. “Therefore, the BJP Government has eliminated the Teacher Recruitment Board,” he added.
