Setting eyes on party’s ‘Mission 2019’, BJP chief Amit Shah will meet senior party leaders from Haryana on Friday in the national capital.

The party national president has summoned the state party leaders from Haryana to Delhi to discuss the strategy for the 2019 lok Sabha polls and review the performance of sitting MPs.

Besides Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar, national organising secretary of the party Ram lal, Haryana affairs incharge Anil Jain, state BJP president Subhash Barala, state organising secretary Suresh Bhatt, Central ministers from the state Birender Singh, Rao Inderjit Singh and Krishan Pal Gurjar, state Cabinet ministers Ram Bilas Sharma, Capt Abhimanyu, OP Dhankar and Anil Vij among others would attend the meeting.

In 2014 general elections, the BJP had contested eight seats out of 10 and left Hisar and Sirsa to its alliance partner at that time, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) of former CM Bhajan lal’s son Kuldeep Bishnoi.

While the HJC lost both seats to the INlD, the BJP won seven seats, losing the Rohtak seat to Deepender Hooda of the Congress. Kuldeep Bishnoi has now merged his party with Congress.

"During the meeting, the party leaders would also deliberate over the probable candidates for Haryana’s 10 lok Sabha seats keeping in view the winnablity factor and performance of the individual candidates," said sources.

The party will also discuss options to field new faces on some lok Sabha seats considering the performance and nonchalant attitude of some party MPs, sources added.

Notably, BJP MP from Kurukshetra, Raj Kumar Saini has already hinted at formation of a new political outfit to contest elections while party’s MP from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Dharambir Singh, has been expressing his unwillingness to contest next lok Sabha poll preferring to contest assembly polls instead. Karnal MP Ashwani Chopra has also been voicing his displeasure over the government’s functioning.

Recently, Amit Shah had taken feedback from BJP organisation leaders during a two-day meeting held in Faridabad on June 15 and 16.

Eyeing 2019 lok Sabha polls and assembly polls, the party state unit has been carrying out various outreach campaigns to connect with the people and apprize them about achievements of Central and Haryana Governments.

While lok Sabha polls are scheduled in May 2019, the assembly polls in Haryana are likely to be held in October 2019.

Earlier, party chief Amit Shah had in February addressed a ‘Yuva Hunkar Rally' at Jind, sounding the poll bugle for 2019 general elections. last year, Amit Shah had spent three days in Rohtak as an attempt to woo voters in the district, which is considered a stronghold of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
