A 6-year-old girl, who went missing under mysterious circumstances three days ago, was found murdered in the fields near Sankhole village in Bahadurgarh town, about 45 km from here on Thursday.
It is suspected that the victim might have been raped before being killed. The body has been sent to civil hospital for postmortem examination.
The incident came to light when the body lying in the fields was spotted by some villagers who were out for a morning walk. They immediately informed the police which rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
later, a team of forensic experts also visited the scene of crime and lifted some samples from there. The body was identified as Karina, daughter of Kailash of Patel Nagar in Bahadurgarh.
“We have started probe into the case while father of the victim has not yet expressed doubt on anyone in this regard. It will be ascertained after the postmortem examination that whether she was raped before her death or not,” said Rajeev Deswal, the Bahadurgarh DSP.
