The Uttar Haryana  Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) on Friday claimed that it has been receiving good response to the recently launched ‘Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon Scheme’ throughout the State. Nitin Yadav, Managing Director, UHBVN said that the Raiwali feeder of Panchkula constituency is the first feeder in the State where the first stage of the scheme has been completed by the Nigam with the active support of villages of Raiwali, Gazipur, Shamroo and Tepla.
The other feeder where the first  phase of the scheme has been completed are Dabri feeder  of Karnal constituency covering the Dabri village and Galibkheri feeder of Nilokheri constituency covering the village of GalibKheri , Chanderkhera and Dayalpur, he said. Under the scheme, the activities of accurate meter reading with replacement of old meters and shifting of the meters outside the premises, providing new connections on the spot and replacement of normal wires with Aerial  Bunched Cable is undertaken in all these villages.
In all of these constituencies the second feeder with least distribution losses is being finalized for the implementation of the scheme. Meanwhile, the supply hours to these villages where the first phase of the scheme  completed,  would be  increased from existing 15 hours to 18 hours a day which is a landmark achievement  for the consumers of the area concerned as well as the Nigam, said Yadav.
Keeping in view the commitment of the Government to provide quality power to all the sections of the society, ther  has been very positive response in the  rural areas to avail the benefits of the scheme. Thus paving the way towards economic evolution of Haryana and its people, he added.
Haryana Government had in July announced to launch a voluntary scheme “Mhara Gaon - Jagmag Gaon”, aimed at providing 24-hour uninterrupted power supply to rural domestic consumers and improving electricity bill collections in order to reduce huge accumulated losses of power utilities.
The State-owned power utilities have accumulated losses to the tune of `24,000 crore.
