Mention registration number in ads of real estate projects: RERA

Punjab Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) on Tuesday issued directions regarding the mentioning of registration number issued by the authority in the advertisements of real estate projects.

In the supersession of circular dated December 21, 2017, RERA has directed that keeping in view the provisions contained in section 11(2) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, any advertisement of real estate projects in the print media, on outdoor hoardings or any other visual medium, should mention the registration number issued by this

authority in the top right corner of the advertisement, stated government’s official spokesperson.

The spokesperson said the size of lettering and numbering used for registration number should be not less than half of the size used for the name of the project in the said advertisement.

The advertisement or prospectus issued or published by the promoter should also mention the website address — www.rera.punjab.gov.in — of the authority just below the registration number.

As per directions, in the advertisements on FM Radio or through electronic media and SMS, the registration number issued by the authority as well as the website address of the RERA should be prominently mentioned, added the spokesperson.
