Mayawati to attend INlD's Sept 25 rally

BSP supremo Mayawati would attend Indian National lok Dal’s September 25 rally in Gohana to celebrate the birth anniversary of INlD’s founder and former deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Dev lal.

leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly and senior leader of INlD, Abhay Chautala on Wednesday met BSP president Mayawati in New Delhi to invite her for the rally.

On the occasion, the BSP chief tied Rakhi on Chautala’s wrist and promised to attend the rally.

Eyeing political revival after being out of power since 2005, the INlD had in April announced to join hands with the BSP for 2019 crucial polls. The INlD had announced to contest lok Sabha polls and assembly polls in Haryana in alliance with the BSP.

“It would be for the first time after their alliance that the INlD leaders and BSP chief and other senior leaders will address a joint public rally in Haryana,” Chautala said.

This alliance will re-establish the unity between various communities in the state, he added.

The party will also be inviting leaders from SAD, JDU, RJD and other regional parties for the September 25 rally.

The INlD has been celebrating September 25 as “Samman Diwas” every year to pay tribute to former deputy Prime Minister Devi lal.

Chautala had recently announced that the party workers will carry out house-to-house visit to invite people for ‘Samman Divas’.

Notably, INlD chief and former Chief Minister OP Chautala along with  his son Ajay Chautala are currently serving 10-year jail sentence after being convicted, in teacher recruitment scam in Haryana.

OP Chautala’s younger son, Abhay Chautala is steering the party, which is losing its sheen after being out of power since 2005.
