Maximize field visits to redress people’s grievances at grassroots level: Punjab CM to DCs

Published on:

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday asked all the Deputy Commissioners to maximize field visits for ensuring that benefits of pro-people and development-oriented schemes are percolated to the people at the grassroots level.

“The officers should make concerted efforts to ensure that public welfare is ensured through the state government’s schemes. The officers must ensure meticulous implementation of these schemes for desired results,” said the Chief Minister, chairing a high-level review meeting of DCs.

Mann said that he will personally monitor the implementation of such schemes at the ground level for the well-being of the common man.

The Chief Minister asked the officers to ensure ‘Sarkar Tuhaade Dwaar’ programs in the area of their jurisdiction. “It is a flagship program of our government for the progress of the state and prosperity of its people. This program finds no parallel across the country as no other state government bothers to spare so much time for the people by solving their problems at their doorsteps. This program helps in quick resolution of public problems on one hand besides judging the performance of the government officers or officials on the other,” he said.

He also asked the officers to ensure zero pendency of the Driving License (DL) and Registration Certificate (RC) in their respective districts.
