Ahead of August 21 Talwandi Sabo by-election, Union Minister and SAD’s Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday announced that a new rail line between Maur-Talwandi Sabo-Raman Mandi would soon be a reality.
Union Minister for Food Processing Industry has Tuesday appreciated and specially thanked Union Railways Minister DV Sadananda Gowda for his pro-active efforts regarding construction of this rail line between Raman Mandi and Sadda Singhwala via Talwandi Sabo.
The announcement was made after the Union Railways Minister shot off a communiqué to Harsimrat informing that final location survey regarding the new rail line from Maur via Talwandi Sabo to Raman Mandi has already been taken up. The letter further informed that the location survey shall be completed within next five months and land acquisition will be processed thereafter.
Terming it a stark contrast between the UPA Government functioning and that of the NDA Governments’ functioning, Harsimrat said that for the last 10 years, our appeals for introducing a Shatabdi train between Delhi and Bathinda fell onto their deaf ears along with all other demands.
“Despite a sizable representation of Punjab in the Union Cabinet, Punjab was being neglected,” she said.
BAJWA WARNS AKAlIS AGAINST PRESSURE TACTICS
Rama Mandi: Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Tuesday stated that the result of Talwandi Sabo bye-election would mark the beginning of demolition of Akali edifice in the State.
“It is this constituency where tall claims made by corrupt and non-performing Akali Dal Government about development last seven and a half years stood exposed as this region continued to be as bereft of basic amenities as ever,” said Bajwa while addressing election rally at Rama Mandi, also attended by former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, in favour of Congress candidate Harminder Singh Jassi.
“Now the Union Minister Harsimrat Badal is trying to blackmail people saying that in case they wanted to see their area developed, they must vote for Akali Dal candidate. She has forgotten that she represents Talwandi Sabo also as this constituency is part of her Bathinda lok Sabha constituency and it is her responsibility to take care of the region,” he said.
KEJRIWAl FAllEN PREY TO RABBlE ROUSING: SAD
Chandigarh: Maintaining that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal was suffering from a malady of bankruptcy of ideas, SAD on Tuesday said that he had fallen to rabble rousing, the worst fall back of a failed politician, to save his party from extinction in Punjab.
“AAP leader is practicing deceitful behaviour by voicing same allegations against Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia which he had leveled a few months back in run up to parliamentary elections. He is not even mindful of the fact that allegations have been gone into by four different central agencies without any evidence emerging against Majithia…High Court has dismissed petitions filed in this regard by Congress leaders,” pointed SAD general secretary and core committee member Maheshinder Singh Grewal.
Grewal said that in case Kejriwal had any evidence against Majithia, “he could have easily filed a petition in court….What stopped him from doing this. He did not do this as he has nothing to reveal”.
Urging the people of Punjab to evaluate AAP leader’s short notorious stint in politics, Grewal said that Kejriwal was known to be double faced. “He swore on his children’s heads that he would never ever seek Congress’ support in run up to the Delhi Assembly elections but did just that in order to form the Government,” he said.
