The third short Marathon was organised in Patiala on Sunday by Janhit Samiti, Punjab and Indian Medical Association, Patiala. The Marathon was divided into three parts 2.5Km, 5Km and 10Km which started and culminated at Gymkhana Club after passing through the nearby areas.
K.D.Chaudhri, Chairman cum Managing Director, Punjab State Power Corporation limited and Kuldip Sharma, SP, DCPO, Patiala flagged of the marathon. Among the participants were Harveen Sarao, World Champion (Shooting), Harwant Kaur, Silver Medallist (Common Wealth Games Discuss Throw), Arpinder Singh, Bronze Medallist (Tripple Jump), Manoj Kumar, Boxer, amongst others.
25 Differently abled children from Deaf and Dumb school, Patiala also participated in the event. There were 1500 participants from all walks of life. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala. K.D.Chaudhri, CMD said the huge participation and enthusiasm for the marathon showed the interest of the people in remaining healthy.
