Manushi Chhillar, who has been crowned Femina Miss India World 2017 is likely to be made a brand ambassador for ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme in Haryana.
Chhillar, who belongs to Haryana, called on the Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar here on Tuesday.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister said the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Programme launched from Haryana has yielded fruitful results.

The ambitious BBBP programme is aimed at addressing the gender imbalance and discrimination against the girl child. Haryana, which had the worst sex ratio among states in the 2011 census, was chosen by Prime Minister to launch the nationwide scheme ‘BBBP’ in 2015.
While congratulating Manushi, the Chief Minister also expressed the hope that she would again make the State and the nation proud by winning the crown of Miss World-2017 to be held in November this year. It is expected that she will make contribution to the development of Haryana, he added.
Manushi, whose parents are doctors, studied at St. Thomas School in Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.
later, while talking to mediapersons, Manushi thanked the Chief Minister and said that she would always be forthcoming in lending support whenever and wherever it is required in making Haryana proud.
The young pageant winner said that she apprized the Chief Minister about her project Shakti, which aims to educate women about menstrual hygiene. The Chief Minister has assured me his support in my project, she said.
“Haryana has always been a leader in notching achievements. I wish, Haryana makes rapid strides in all spheres. I have achieved a lot, but there is still a long way to go and a lot of preparation is needed,” she said.
