Manpreet is high-handed, haughty, say former media advisors

Published on:

Once again in a thick of controversy, the People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) chief Manpreet Singh Badal was yet again accused of haughtiness by his media advisor Bakhshinder Singh, who was shown the door out of the party recently.

Bakhshinder’s predecessor Arunjot Sodhi had also accused Punjab’s former Finance Minister of “expelling” him from the PPP leveling the allegations of highhandedness and political arrogance. Bakhshinder was allegedly thrown out of the party by Manpreet Badal.

Bakhshinder made these revelations on the social networking website — Facebook —alleging that he has been expelled from the PPP, but the reason is known only to the party chief Manpreet Badal.

He has further alleged that Manpreet is neither attending his phone calls nor replying to his e-mails.  On the other hand, Manpreet Badal could not be contacted after repeated attempts. Started from a scratch, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s estranged nephew Manpreet launched his political outfit — PPP —

in 2010 after he resigned from the post of the finance minister in the then SAD-BJP Government, and also from

the party.

Even as Manpreet started with a bang and gathered much of support, especially in his home constituency — Gidderbaha, he over the period of time failed to maintain the pace.

During his initial days, many senior and prominent people joined his party,

who left his sinking political ship charging him of being arrogant, high handedness, and not following the norms on which the PPP was launched.

Only last year, Manpreet’s former press secretary Arunjot Sodhi was thrown out of the party, who in turn alleged the party president for his feudal style of functioning.

Sodhi had also alleged that the PPP was a family affair and funds were being managed by Manpreet’s family — allegation totally abnegated by Manpreet.
