Mandi goes to poll today except Kinnaur

Polling for the Mandi parliamentary constituency will be held on Sunday except for Kinnaur district, where polling has been deferred by the Election Commission due to massive rain devastation in the district.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Narinder Chauhan said that the ECI had amended the polling schedule in Kinnaur Assembly segment in the wake of recent unprecedented rainfall, snowfall and cloudburst.  He said all other assembly constituencies would go to the poll on June 23 and the counting would be conducted on June 30 and results would be declared on the same day.

Polling in Kinnaur district will be held on June 27. The CEO said that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections in Mandi parliamentary constituency.

Chauhan said that total 1921 polling stations have been established in Mandi parliamentary constituency and elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth functioning of election process by deputing sufficient number of polling personnel besides proper security arrangements in the State.
