Malls, temples, restaurants reopen in UT

After a gap of more than two months amid the Covid-19 triggered restrictions, the malls, temples and restaurants reopened on Monday with elaborate sanitization activity and few visitors on the first day.

At the Elante Mall, one of the biggest malls in the region, few visitors turned up in the initial hours of re-opening. As per the protocol, the authorities at the mall have created multi-layered security set up to ensure safety of visitors. At the entrance, visitors were seen going through three levels of checks- thermal scanning, sanitizing, and the last to check whether the visitor has the Arogya Setu app.

Apart from this, markings have been made inside the lifts to ensure social distancing. While only few visitors were seen at the mall on the first day as compared to pre-Covid times, the authorities are hoping the number of customers will increase in the coming time.

Likewise, less number of residents were seen visiting the religious places and restaurants on the first day of re-opening while social distancing was being strictly observed at these places.
