“Punjab has set an example by making farmer and investor friendly solar investment policy for setting up solar power plants,” said Majithia while inaugurating a 42 MW Solar Power Plant installed by leading company in Solar infrastructure Punjllyod at Gamiwal Hakamwala village in Mansa district with Rs 309 crore in 216 acres.

Majithia said that farmers joined hands and came forward from the areas where they were facing problems of water logging or baron lands to lease their land to the investors for setting up solar power plants.

“Now, the farmers, who have leased their land for solar power plants, have an assured annual income of Rs 50,000 per acre with five percent increase annually…Farmers also do not have any threat of any crop damage due to any natural calamities,” he said.
