Punjab Congress on Saturday rubbished the allegations of land grab against party chief Partap Singh Bajwa levelled by State Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia who tried to drag the name of Robert Vadera in an unsavory controversy.
Congress leaders including party vice-president OP Soni, MlAs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Harpartap Singh Ajnala, and others, in a joint statement, said that Majithia had made misleading statement on land deals by Bajwa in Vidhan Sabha where he read a portion of inquiry report of Justice Kuldip Singh tribunal set up by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. “Majithia had committed breach of privilege and contempt of court since the matter is subjudice,” they added.
They maintained that Bajwa was open to judicial scrutiny of all land deals done by influential people in Chandigarh’s periphery, adding that Bajwa had already offered judicial inquiry into sale of shamlat lands as mentioned in Justice Kuldip Singh report.
