Ludhiana industrialists send ghungroos for Railway Minister, bangles for Punjab BJP leaders

Expressing resentment against the continuing embargo on goods train service to the State, Ludhiana Beopar Mandal president Maninder Pal Guliani has sent “ghungroos” to the Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, and bangles for Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma and party’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh.

Guliani, sharing the idea behind the unique protest, said: “Despite clearance of railway tracks by farmers’ organizations for movement of goods trains, the Railway Minister is still dancing to the tunes of big corporates and has halted goods train services to Punjab on their directions…Instead of dancing silently, Goyal should wear these ghungroos so that the world should know that Indian Railway Minister is working at the behest of big corporate”.

Guilani said that he ordered ghungroos and bangles from an online shopping site, and these will be delivered by Amazon directly to the leaders’ respective addresses.

He said that he has sent bangles to BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh and Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma “for playing dirty politics”.

“Instead of playing a positive role, both the leaders are instigating the traders against the farmers. The role of Tarun Chugh, and Ashwani Sharma is not only anti-farmers, but anti-traders also. What has the State BJP leadership done so far for industrialists?” he asked.

Guliani asked if the State BJP leaders ever requested their high command on behalf of industries of Punjab for the resumption of goods trains? “Both the leaders are trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Punjab,” he said adding that the Ludhiana Beopar Mandal highly condemn their “naxalist” remarks against the farmers.

Ludhiana Beopar Mandal head also declared that the effigies of BJP leaders will be burnt all over Punjab, and to mark the protest, they will be sending the keys of their shops or factories to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“If within the next seven days, the goods trains’ services are not resumed in Punjab, we will protest against the Modi Government and will burn the effigies of BJP leaders all over Punjab. Moreover, we will also shut our shops and factories and will send the keys of our shops to the Prime Minister as a mark of protest,” he said.
