Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Thursday met Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore on Thursday seeking the expulsion of Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and filling of FIR against other government top brass involved in the multi-crore Ludhiana land scam.
AAP delegation, led by the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Vidhan Sabha Harpal Singh Cheema, submitted a memorandum to the Governor stating that the multi-crore Grand Manor Homes scam, involving Ashu and other bigwigs of the government, had been hitting the newspaper headlines of late.
“The issue had been raised on the floor of the House during the recently-concluded Budget session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha,” he said adding that in the inquiry report, names of Ashu, Congress candidate for Atam Nagar (Ludhiana) assembly segment Kamaljit Singh Karwal and three other government top officials had prominently figured.
Lamenting that no action had been initiated against the accused so far, the memorandum demanded that Capt should make public the inquiry report, conducted by the Local Bodies Minister Sidhu, a part of which had hit the newspaper headlines.
