Ruling Congress leaders in Himachal, vying for plum postings in Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and appointments in boards and corporations, are leaving no stone unturned.
While some of them met AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh others met state in-charge Ambika Soni, BK Hari Prasad, Janardan Dwivedi while some are further looking for appointments to get their work done with the blessings of the high command.
Sources said the appointments for boards and corporations, which were earlier cleared by central leaderships has been put on hold by the state government, after several new names from party surfaced claiming right over the appointments.
Congress leadership at centre has cleared three names of Gangu Ram Musafir, Prakash Karad, Harbhajan Singh Bhajji and Kewal Singh Pathania for transfer from HRTC to some other department like Forest Corporation but for the time being it has been put on hold.
leaders are citing 2014 general election saying if they are appointed as chairman of boards and corporation or are given posts in PCC list, then they can mobilise their voters in respective constituencies.
Sources said that Himachal Bhawan at Delhi is packed for past two days with leaders ranking from ex-ministers or former MlA to ministers and MlAs who are seeking appointments from central leaders to get their blessings.
Sources said that when these disgruntled leaders met chief minister Virbhadra Singh couple of days back, they were asked to get clearances from central leadership as he has no problem with the appointments but the nod should come from top leadership.
“In a day or two in all likelihood chief minister Virbhadra Singh will be meeting the central leadership and discuss the situation,” said one of the senior leader of the party adding that party is not willing to change the new PCC list released last week and may be some new names could be added at general secretary or secretary level to pacify the annoyed leaders.
