A day after Punjab BJP president Shwait Malik took over the party reigns in the state, his Congress counterpart Sunil Jakhar on Monday dared the newly-appointed chief to list even a sinhle promise fulfilled by Narendra Modi Government at the Centre before commenting on the Congress-led State Government.
Jakhar unequivocally said that the new State BJP president must study the performance of NDA Government which is in fifth year of its tenure, before issuing such an “irresponsible” statement on the performance of the Punjab Government.
“When the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh's Government took over in 2017, the State’s economy was in worse condition due to decade-long misrule of SAD-BJP alliance during which there was no rule of law in the state and there was no money in the treasury. But the Congress Government has not only made successful efforts to bail out Punjab from economic crisis in its last one year but also to fulfill its election promises,” said Jakhar.
