Punjab Government has issued strict instructions to act against its employees who are habitual latecomers.
To ensure that officers and employees are punctual in reporting for work, the State Government has issued instructions to all the departmental heads to conduct surprise checks two-three times in a month in their offices.
As per the instructions, the departmental head would call for the attendance register every day at 9.10 am and seek an explanation from an officer or employee for reporting late for duty first time and deduct an entitled leave, said an official spokesperson.
Spokesperson said that in case of an officer or an employee coming late at duty for the second time, he or she would be issued a show cause notice as per rules and
would be charge-sheeted in case of coming late the third time in accordance with the rules.
The action taken report pertaining to the checking should be sent to the Personnel Department, the spokesperson added.
