Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday challenged the BJP to prove its allegation that land has been allocated to people illegally.
“I have not given a single inch of land to any one in a wrong manner. The government can get the facts checked. If the allegations against me are proved true I will quit the post and the politics at that very moment,” he said.
Attacking Indian National lok Dal (INlD) supremo OP Chautala, at two public rallies at Panipat and Israna, Hooda said he has been claiming that he is in jail because of lighting lamps in 3000 homes by giving 3000 people jobs. “Chautala did not light up lamps, but actually put them off. On that account I have given jobs to 50,000 people in the state. Should I be hanged thenIJ
The Chief Minister said in the BJP ruled States the maximum pension given to the aged was `400 (Gujarat), whereas Haryana was giving `1,000 per month pension and from November 1, this will be raised to `1,500. If the Congress was voted back to power for the third time this amount would be raised further, he said.
Hooda asked the BJP what happened to its promise of `Achhe Din’ for the people and the country if it came to powerIJ “Is the increase in price of all goods including tomato a sign of the good daysIJ” Hooda said the BJP used to claim it will bring back the black money to India within 100 days of coming to power. The BJP has been in power in Haryana for the last four months but there is no trace of the black money. If the BJP’s claim is true, then the party should tell the countrymen after bringing back the black money to who it has been distributed,’’ said Hooda.
Hooda said if Chautala plans to take oath from jail, he should form his cabinet from among the prisoners. He told the people present that if there is any problem they can come to him but if Chautala becomes the Chief Minister the people will have to go to jail for meeting him.
