A mobile-based application, namely, ‘Kilkari,’ has been launched in Haryana to create awareness among pregnant women, parents and field workers about the importance of antenatal care, institutional delivery, post-natal care and immunisation.
The mobile based application was launched during the concluding day of three-day State level orientation workshop at State Institute of Health and Family Welfare in Sector-6, Panchkula near here.
New data elements in Health Management Information System (HMIS) were also launched, said Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) Amneet P Kumar.
Amneet said that the mobile application would deliver free, weekly, time appropriate 72 audio messages about pregnancy, child birth and child care from the second trimester of pregnancy until the child attains the age of one year directly to the registered mobile numbers.
New modified data elements were added to thematic areas of healthcare delivery, she said.
She said that with the addition of new data elements of HMIS portal, more health programmes would be covered for monitoring and evaluation purpose.
Apart from this, the services provided at the grass root level by the front line workers could be easily monitored. The newly added data elements would help in analysing the gap in the service delivery, which would further equip the system in bridging the gaps and further strengthen the service delivery, said she.
Deputy Civil Surgeon (NHM), District Programme Manager (DPM) and District Monitoring and Evaluation officer (M&EO) from 21 districts participated in the workshop. These participants will act as master trainers for further training at district level, block level and health facility level.
