Hitting back at his Punjab counterpart Parkash Singh Badal remarks that the state would not spare even a drop of water regardless of the judgment of the Supreme Court on the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal issue, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Thursday said, “Since ours is a democratic country, the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Sutlej Yamuna link (SYl) Canal issue would have to be accepted by all.”
The Chief Minister while addressing Haryana Vidhan Sabha Swarna Jayanti Sammelan, at Panchkula, said the present Government has vigorously pursued the SYl case and got the hearing fast-tracked in the Supreme Court on the presidential reference which had been lying pending for the last 10 to 12 years.
Any other inter-State issue could also be resolved through mutual dialogue. But the interests of Haryana would remain supreme, he added.
