Former MlA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has been formally appointed as the spokesperson of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC).

Khaira’s appointment came almost a month after he was earlier appointed as “chief spokesperson” of the PPCC by the newly appointed state party chief Partap Singh Bajwa, but the decision was reversed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

Bajwa appointed Khaira on Wednesday on the post after approval by the party high command.

Son of former Education Minister Sukhjinder Singh, Khaira remained MlA from Bholath constituency during 2007- 2012.

He has also remained Kapurthala District Congress Committee president from 2005 to 2010, served as party spokesperson during 2009 parliamentary elections.
