AAP’s Punjab unit, it seems, is crumbling day by day. While the party is already facing a vertical split between Delhi and State leaderships over Kejriwal’s apology to Majithia, the leader of Oppsoition Sukhpla Khaira is also facing allegations of splitting the party. Party’s MlA from Kotkapura Kultar Singh Sandhwan has accused Khaira, a former Congressman, for trying to “split” the party by pressurising the legislators to form a breakway faction and bringing a resolution in a meeting.
He said that AAP should take action against Khaira who violated the party’s code of discipline by making attempts to create a new outfit.
At the same time, he lashed out at Khaira and other MlAs claiming that they won election in the name of the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal. “If Khaira wanted to create a new party, he must vacate the MlA’s seat and fight elections and seek fresh mandate,” he said.
Earlier, party’s state youth wing president Harjot Bains had accused Khaira of making attempts to capture the state party unit and its workers who have built the party after six years of hard work, and merge it with the Congress for his personal interest.
