To bring momentum to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s campaign in poll-bound Punjab, party’s national convener and Delhi Chief
Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address as many as 21 rallies from November 20 to 30 across the State.
“Kejriwal will be in Punjab from November 20 to 30 to address 21 rallies in different parts of the State,” said party Punjab unit convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich (Ghuggi) on Friday.
He said Kejriwal would start his campaign from Jalalabad, the constituency represented by Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Badal, and end his tour of Punjab at Gurdaspur on November 30.
During his 11-day tour, Kejriwal would cover Fazilka, Bathinda, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Barnala, Sangrur, Rupnagar, ludhiana, Jalandhar, Khadoor Sahib, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, and Pathankot.
Ghuggi said that the purpose of these rallies is to aware people about anti-people policies of the SAD-BJP government and how Congress has always cheated people of State.
“The people of Punjab are prepared for uprooting the corrupt regime and start a new era in the politics. The volunteers are motivated and are preparing for a great show,” he added.
AAP is eyeing to wrest power in Punjab after the 2017 Assembly elections in the State.
Kejriwal is expected to base his campaign on the construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna-link (SYl) canal issue, the drug menace, law and order and procurement of crops in the State.
However, the AAP supremo is facing criticism from the SAD and the Congress for maintaining a strategic silence over the contentious issue of SYl canal.
