Kejriwal lost his mental balance, should meditate: Harsimrat

Taking a dig at Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal for putting the onus on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for AAP’s dismal show in the recent Punjab Assembly polls, Shiromani Akali Dal MP and Union Food and Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Wednesday said that the former has “lost his mental balance”.

“Kejriwal is mentally unstable and we all can see that. When he got 67 seats in Delhi, then everything was fine, now when Punjab has rejected him, he is not able to digest his defeat and is creating a ruckus,” said Harsimrat.

The wife of SAD president Sukhbir Badal, Harsimrat advised Kejriwal to go for ‘vipassana’ instead of casting aspersions on the reliability of EVMs.

Delhi Chief Minister should focus on affairs related to the national capital rather than making lame statements about the EVMs and ballots, she said.

“He has always lied. Why the public will support himIJ He should introspect,” she added, while making apparent attempts to downplay SAD’s resounding defeat in Punjab.

“Though we have lost the elections, we have a 31 percent vote share at the end of it. It means the people of Punjab still have faith in us,” she said.

Kejriwal on Wednesday alleged that the EVMs were tampered during the recently conducted assembly polls in the five States which ultimately resulted in his party’s dismal show especially in Punjab.

Addressing a press conference here, Kejriwal has alleged that EVM tampering may have led to the transfer of around 20-25 per cent of AAP votes to the SAD-BJP combine.

He has also asked the Election Commission to count slips of Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail or VVPAT and match it with the figures of EVM results.

SAD had got a drubbing in Punjab polls, winning just 15 seats in the 117-strong assembly, while its ally BJP won three. The AAP finished a distant second behind the runaway Congress, winning just 20 seats.
