Terming Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal an “untrustworthy person”, Bharatiya Janata Party national vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna on Sunday said that Kejriwal was a different person when in Delhi and Haryana and a contrasting character when in Punjab.
Accusing Kejriwal of betraying the people of Delhi, Khanna said: “If Kejriwal and his associates valued the responsibility they carried on their shoulders, AAP would have made its promises in a single manifesto instead of issuing three different ones.”
“He has issued a separate manifesto for the businessmen and industrialists in ludhiana while the same community is being oppressed by AAP in Delhi. Also, out of the promises made to the people of Delhi, he hasn’t made public the ones he has fulfilled,” he said.
Khanna said that AAP was still to form a consensus regarding the ‘karza muafi sankalp chithi’, which it is trying to get filled from the debt-ridden farmers.
“I ask the Congress leaders as to how many farmers in Punjab got their debt waived off by them during their six decades of rule. Similarly, how many people in Delhi did Kejriwal helpIJ Both the parties have nothing concrete to claim and hence are making false promises,” he said.
At the same time, Khanna pointed that Kejriwal is for reservation in Gujarat and is opposing it in Punjab. “He gives a different statement over the water issue in Punjab and contradicts his stand in Haryana,” he added.
