Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to begin the poll campaign of his party on an auspicious note. Kejriwal will be releasing the first component of the party’s manifesto on Sunday in Amritsar, after paying obeisance at Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) and Durgiana Temple.
Kejriwal will be on a three-days visit in Punjab, which is his third visit to the State this year.
The Delhi CM will be launching the youth manifesto, at Ranjeet Avenue in Amritsar, after visiting both the shrines. Party leaders claim that the youth manifesto consisting of 58 points has been devised to address the issues of unemployment, menace of drugs and education. The manifesto is said to have been prepared after detailed consultation with youth, teachers and other sections of the society.
The party claims that the manifesto would not be merely a paper document, but an agreement between Youth and AAP, which the party would implement during five years after coming into power in Punjab.
During this three days visit to the state, Kejriwal will visit the districts of Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, ludhiana, Khanna and Malerkotla and will interact with various sections of society.
As per the schedule, Kejriwal will visit Gurdaspur, Jalandhar and Malerkotla on Monday, where he will be holding meetings with party workers and meet industry representatives of the state.
He is planned to visit the industrial town ludhiana and Khanna on Tuesday, where an interface with the industrialists and traders has been planned. Party insiders say that Kejriwal will be listening to the issues of the industry and the concerns of the crumbling industry in the state would be well addressed in the manifesto of the party.
The three days tour of Delhi Chief Minister is crucial as AAP, the latest player in the Punjab political arena is going to be the first party to initiate the process of declaring its manifesto, while the traditional political forces SAD and Congress are yet to give a tip-off on declaration of their manifestos.
Nearly two years after the AAP, managed to create a place for itself in the national politics, by bagging four parliamentary seats from Punjab, the party has been putting all its strength to get a chance to rule the state as victory in Punjab can provide the party a chance to show its real political worth to the nation.
The party in the past one year has been able to keep its momentum going up and the leaders have been claiming to repeat Delhi victory in Punjab.
