JJP, BSP begin seven-day yatra to reach people

In view of the forthcoming Assembly elections in Haryana, Jannayak Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party have launched seven-day yatra to cover all the districts and reach out to the people of the State.

The JJP-BSP held its first joint ‘Badlav rally” on Sunday in Nuh and announced seven-day yatra across the state.

JJP leader and former MP Dushyant Chautala said that the strength of JJP-BSP alliance has created a wave of hope in poor section and farmers of the state. There is a panic in BJP and Congress after the JJP-BSP alliance, he added.

Dushyant said that there is only about 45 days left in the assembly elections and now everyone has to work really hard to bring a change in the state.

The JJP leader, while holding the BJP-Congress responsible for lack of development in Mewat, said that even today, five decades after the formation of the state, Mewat is the mo      st backward.

Questioning the BJP government, he asked whether the State Government is undertaking development here or destruction.

Notably, the JJP will contest on 50 and BSP will fight on 40 assembly seats in the state.

In general elections 2019, the Aam Aadmi Party and the JJP had joined hands to fight all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. The AAP had fought on four seats while the JJP contested the remaining six. However, there was a clean sweep by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on all the constituencies.

Dushyant had himself contested Lok Sabha polls from Hisar but had lost to BJP's bureaucrat-turned-politician Brijendra Singh.

With INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala being in jail in connection with the teacher recruitment scam, his son Ajay Chautala had broken away from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and formed JJP last year.

The two political factions of the Chautala family will separately observe the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal for the first time after the split in the INLD. INLD secretary general Abhay Chautala has announced a state-level function in Kaithal on September 25 while Dushyant Chautala has announced to organise a similar event at Meham in Rohtak district the same day.
