The CGA Golf Range here has made two additions to its already unique facilities. A junior driving range and synthetic putting green was inaugurated by ace Golfer, Padma Shri Jeev Milkha Singh on Sunday at CGA.
The junior driving range will cater to the growing number of juniors training at CGA. It will provide a separate area for junior camps creating a safer environment for their practice. The junior driving range has seven bays and is covered for all weather practice. The artificial putting green has the best synthetic surface available in India.
The green has a speed of over 11 on the stimpmeter and is important for professionals and juniors who travel abroad and have to putt on faster greens than the ones found here. As the putting greens especially in Chandigarh are very slow this would help them to improve their putting strokes and their performance abroad.
CGA is the only range which now has a separate short game area, a huge putting green, a separate short game area cum putting green for the professionals and now, a synthetic putting green. This coupled with a two tier driving range and a well equipped gym and certified teaching staff makes it a boon for the golfers of this region. All prominent professional golfers, amateur golfers, junior golfers, sub-junior golfers and CGA executive committee members were present on the occasion.
