Jat Ministers reach out to the protesters

Announcing that the State Government has no objection in providing financial help and job to the family members of the persons who lost their lives during the last year’s agitation, Haryana Minister and Jat leader, OP Dhankar on Thursday said that the State Government is open to talk with Jat protesters and they should put up their demands before the Government.

Referring to the demand of withdrawal of cases filed during last year’s agitation, Dhankar said that the State Government has withdrawn about 1500 cases till now and 622 cases are pending.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Dhankar said that the present BJP government gave reservation to the Jat community in the way they asked for and their suggestions were conceded. The State Government has also urged the Court for speedy disposal of the case in High Court.

He added that it was BJP that had granted reservation to Jats in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana.

On the other hand,  Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, a Jat leader said that if the court delivers its verdict in favour of granting reservation as demanded by protesters, the State Government would, without delay, write to the Central Government to include the law in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.

Capt. Abhimanyu  hoped that the case presented by the State Government in the High Court over the last 11 months would yield positive results, and the High Court would deliver its verdict in favour of granting reservation.

The leaders also hit out at the opposition –Congress and INlD- for allegedly trying to disrupt peace and harmony in the state. The INlD and Congress had remained in power in the state, but their governments had not granted reservation to the Jat community, they added.
