Jaspal Bhatti's Nonsense Club takes a dig at Punjab political parties

Published on:

With Punjab Assembly elections due next year, late satirist and comedian Jaspal Bhatti’s Nonsense Club on Tuesday did a spoof on the political scenario in the State, saying the voters were “confused” and needed “special tuitions” to understand the trend of leaders switching parties at the drop of a hat.

Taking potshot at the leaders who keep changing their parties, Jaspals wife Savita Bhatti inaugurated a mock Coaching Centre here to provide special classes to the voters.

“Each day there is a new turn of events. You will find a leader criticising some leader from the other group and the next day he is

seen standing next to that very leader calling him saviour of Punjab. In this scenario, the voter is highly confused,” she said.

“The most strange thing I find is that a person in party A fits in very well in party B and on the third day he fits in equally well in party C. Where is the personal ideology, principle and visionIJ Is the sole agenda is to stay or

capture powerIJ So, we are taking potshots on that kind of politics by means of satire,” she said.

Nonsense Club was founded by Jaspal Bhatti, who was well known for his political satire. Bhatti died in a car accident near Shahkot in Nakodar area of Jalandhar district on October 25, 2012.
