Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday announced that Industrial Training Institutes will be renamed as Kaushal Vikas Kendra (KVK) in the State.
In these centers, youth will be provided with the facility of 800 different types of courses to make them eligible for employment, said the Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at village Rakhi Garhi in Hisar.
He said that the unemployed youth is being given monthly salary of Rs 9,000 in lieu of 100 hours work under the Saksham Yuva scheme. He also called upon the youth to prepare themselves for self employment.
lashing out at the opposition, the Chief Minister said that since both INlD and Congress have no issues to rake up, these parties are just trying to salvage their eroded political existence in the name of farmers and the SYl.
He said that opposition parties are misleading people about the crop insurance scheme. He informed that by paying only 1.5 to 2 per cent premium, farmers are getting insurance cover from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.
The compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre was recommended in the Swaminathan Commission's report, but in the first year, our government has made it Rs 12,000 per acre. Earlier, the Congress government paid Rs 6,000 per acre compensation, said Manohar lal.
Continuing his tirade against Congress, he said that the Congress leaders should first explain why they did not implement the report during their 10-year tenure. The National Farmers Commission formed in November 2004 gave its report in 2006. At that time, there were Congress governments both at the Centre and in the State and these lasted till 2014, he added.
The Chief Minister further said that a committee, headed by the former Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had been constituted to go into and implement the Swaminathan Commission report. It did submit its observations but nothing was done to implement the report, he said.
He also said that meaningful efforts had been made to end corruption. In the last few days, 750 places have been raided in the state and strict action has been taken against those indulging in manufacturing and selling of spurious and counterfeit goods.
Targeting the Congress on the issue of corruption, Manohar lal said during their tenure, Congress leaders had eaten all, be it Aakash (2G spectrum), Patal (coal) or land. Today, when they are being investigated, they cry that the government is being vindictive and doing all this in order to take revenge. But the government is not being vindictive, he added.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects worth Rs 84 crore in the district and inaugurated an exhibition organised by the Department of Archeology.
Supporting all the demands put up by the Finance Minister, Capt Abhimaynu , at the public meeting, the Chief Minister gave his consent to development works worth about Rs 250 crore. Major works that he approved included a new block in Narnaund, cattle research centre of lUVAS in one of the villages at a cost of Rs 10 crore, a college, a milk chilling plant in Khanda or Bass, mini- secretariat building in Narnaund, ITI (Skill Development Center) in Sisai, making Jind-Hansi road 10-meter broad, restoration of the Bhaklana Minor at a cost of Rs 3.10 crore, and construction of 100-bed hospital in Narnaund.
