To provide skilled manpower in the State, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Friday approved the setting up of extension of Centre of Central Tool Room (CTR), ludhiana at Quality Marketing Centre (QMC), Faridabad. With this, as many as 400 people per year would be imparted training in different courses in the Centre.
An official spokesman said that CTR ludhiana had offered for setting up of its extension centre at QMC Faridabad. CTR ludhiana has been serving the industry in the field of Tool and Die Technology and allied fields since 1980. Its objective was to serve the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in northern state by providing skilled manpower and offering the precision services.
The spokesman said that during the 71st meeting of Governing Council of CTR, it was requested to provide its services for the industries of Faridabad and also to set up extension centre there. The necessary expenditure on renovation work would be taken care of by CTR, he added. He said that the areas of interest which has been identified for imparting training and providing services in the Centre included CAD/CAM training centre, CNC programming /machining training programmes, welding technology, on the job training programme, job work facilities, tool and die making facility and vacuum heat technology facility. These services would be provided in a phased manner.
In the first phase, CAD/CAM courses ranging from 2 weeks to 17 weeks duration would be initiated per year for nearly 400 candidates. The extension centre of CTR would prove beneficial not only for the industries of Faridabad but also of adjoining districts. It would not only provide skilled manpower but also expert tool room guidance to the entrepreneurs of the region. The proposed project would be implemented within a period of two years from the date of handing over of possession. The Government of India would make an investment of about Rs77 lakh through CTR ludhiana.
