The week-long International Shivratri Fair concluded at Mandi on Sunday. Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh, addressing the concluding ceremony said that fairs and festivals of the State were unique in their own way and were means for celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the State.
She said that rich colours of tradition witnessed during these festivals should be preserved for posterity as they affirm our identity as a great State and nation.
She added that culture and its “heritage reflect and shape values, beliefs, and aspirations besides defining our national identity”.
Governor also lauded the Dev-Milan tradition which was a unique feature of the fair and added that it was found only in Himachal Pradesh.
