Indian National lok Dal (INlD) on Friday wrote a letter to Chief Election Commissioner of India seeking removal of PVS Rathi, a retired IPS officer, who has been posted as principal Advisor (Home and CID) to Chief Minister of Haryana.
RS Chaudhry, General Secretary, INlD, alleged that Rathi, former Director General (CID) has not been holding any statutory post but in view of his close political proximity
to the Haryana CM, he is influencing the functioning of the Police Department.
The INlD alleged that in his current posting, he has been instrumental in posting and transfers of a very vital department that can influence the electoral process.
"INlD urges you to seek the Call Detail Record, land line as well as mobile,
of his office and residence for the past six months to ascertain the nature of his calls," Chaudhry said in his letter.
Chaudhry also alleged that in gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct,
the photographs, advertisements and hoardings extolling the achievements of
the Central and State Governments have not yet been covered in the State.
"It is a clear violation of the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India," he said.
