INlD releases please-all manifesto

Ahead of Assembly election in the State, the main Opposition party in Haryana, Indian National lok Dal (INlD) on Saturday released its election manifesto, promising to waive off loans of up to `2 lakh, 50 per cent job quota for sons of the soil in private sector and free scooters to college-going girls.

Releasing the party’s poll manifesto here, INlD leader Abhay Singh Chautala said in the event of the party coming to power in the state, a Commission will be set up to probe “all controversial land deals, including those related to Robert Vadra”.

To probe alleged irregularities in land deals during the Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime, the INlD has promised to set up a Commission which, Chautala said, will help in farmers getting their dues.

The party has promised the loan waiver of up to `2 lakh for various categories like farmers, labourers, backward classes and Scheduled Castes. Besides, there are provisions of houses to all poor people in the state, increasing old age pension to `1,200 per month, 25 kilo foodgrains to poor families and allowance to unemployed youth.

The party, which had in 2009 promised monthly allowance of `3,000 to unemployed graduates, has now said a monthly allowance of `5,000 will be given to those unemployed who have passed the Class XII examination and `8,000 per month to graduates.

The INlD said if voted to power, it would repeal the Act under which a separate SGPC had been formed in the State by the Government.

The party has also promised reservation of 50 per cent jobs for the Haryanvis in the private sector and companies falling in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

If voted to power, the party will give free scooters (a scooter or a moped) to all girl students in rural areas who will enroll themselves in colleges after passing Class XII examination, said Chautala.

He added that the party will bear expenses to facilitate travel of 1.25 lakh pilgrims from the State each year to the famous Sikh shrine Nankana Sahib in Pakistan.

INlD State unit chief Ashok Arora said that his party will also encourage sportspersons in the State. “We will give `7 crore to a player from Haryana winning an Olympic gold, `5 crore to the silver medallist and `3 crore to the bronze medallist,” he said.

A day before, the party had released its first list of 62 candidates for the Assembly elections to the 90-member Haryana Assembly.
