INlD demands dismissal of Govt

INlD’s senior leader and leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly, Abhay Singh Chautala on Monday demanded dismissal of BJP Government in the state for failing to maintain the law and order situation during the ongoing Jat agitation.

“An assembly session should be called to give reservation to the Jat community. Also, the families of innocent people who were killed during the protest should be given Rs 25 lakh compensation each and a job. The people whose properties were vandalised should also be compensated,” demanded Abhay Singh Chautala while addressing a Press conference here on Monday.

Chautala also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the issue. “Why has not PM issued a single appealIJ... He used to say that Haryana is his second home,” said the INlD leader.

Holding the BJP Government in Haryana responsible for deteriorating law and order situation, he demanded a judicial inquiry into who instigated the violence in the state.

A number of movements had taken place in Haryana in the past but the violence this time was unprecedented. Nobody is feeling secure in Haryana at present as houses of MlAs, MPs are being burnt, said he.

He demanded that a case should be registered and action should be taken against BJP Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini for inflaming the Jat agitation through his anti-Jat remarks.

Chautala also blamed Rohtak assembly constituency MlA Manish Kumar Grover for the large number of violence incidents in the town.

“The state has witnessed this violence because BJP failed to deliver on its promises. The Chief Minister and his Cabinet is silent on the issue for the past three days and only issuing appeals. The Government should inculcate faith in the people,” he added.

Citing an audio clip that he claimed had gone viral, he said a person close to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was reportedly manipulating the protests.

“Even as Hooda is sitting at Jantar mantar on a hunger strike, it is now clear that he incited people to commit violence,” said Chautala adding that an inquiry into the audio clip should be conducted.

He also accused the Government on keeping a vigil on various opposition leaders. They are tapping our phones instead Saini’s phone should be monitored, said Chautala.

He also blamed Bhiwani BJP leaders for setting a Jat Dharamshala and a petrol pump on fire.

A delegation of Indian National lok Dal (INlD) also submitted a memorandum to Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki seeking dismissal of BJP Government in the State.
